Reference voltage was generated by phase locked loop(PLL), and load current was projected to reference voltage, and then the active power fundamental current, reactive power fundamental current, harmonic current, fundamental negative sequence current, any harmonic current and so on can be detected accurately by using low-pass filter(LPF), and in the case of distorted voltage, the method was also applicable. The simulation results verify the fast dynamic speed, high detection accuracy, simple implement and good project value of the proposed algorithm. MATLAB simulation results confirm the feasibility and validity of the method.

This paper describes the development of a series active power filter with hysteresis control, which allows harmonics and zero-sequence voltage compensation. Here, the series active filter play an important role in harmonic voltage cancellation produced by Static Synchronous Series Compensator SSSC when is connected in the electrical network. The active filter controller is based on the instantaneous power theory (p-q theory) and was simulated by using MATLAB SIMULINK. The p-q theory is introduced followed by the presentation of some active power filters topologies. Then a brief description of the implemented solution is made, using references of software tools used for simulation and system development. The obtained results are also presented, showing the good performance of the developed active filter.

Description: In this paper, an efficient active power filter (APF) scheme is developed to estimate and compensate for harmonic distortion in an electrical power network. The developed APF control scheme is based on a double proportional feedback controller and a single-phase voltage-source half-wave bridge inverter. The proposed filter uses a Multi-layer Artificial Neural Network (MLANN) with a shift method for estimating system harmonic currents and voltages at a dedicated point. The proposed scheme is tested on a 13 bus industrial distribution system. The obtained results ensure the effectiveness of the proposed filter. The system is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink and simulation results prove that the polluting harmonics have been greatly reduced.
